HUANG Haining

Artist Statement
Artist Statement Driven by a desire to reshape existing spaces, Haining Huang employs combinations and configurations of "objects/spaces" to fulfill his creative impulse. His artistic practice often focuses on selecting and reconstructing outlines left by architectural partitions, thus achieving a certain abstract expression that visually encapsulates a unique "tranquil" impact. Through his works, he frequently explores how individual experiences intersect with collective consciousness, emphasizing the conflicting yet complementary relationship between materials and constructed forms. Essentially, his practice highlights the pursuit of harmony within diverse contradictions and concepts. Huang intentionally integrates multiple worldviews and subtle perceptual hints to construct multi-layered consciousness in his creative process, inviting viewers to generate rich associations with his works. He perceives "creation" as a means of confronting his own sense of solitude, viewing the artworks as mere byproducts of these ongoing confrontations. Creation implies destruction; he seeks to express his inner aspirations in the most straightforward and unpretentious manner possible, using multidisciplinary integrations to mitigate his fears of loneliness, continuously metabolizing new outcomes through his struggles with solitude.
